The Doll Parts Collection: Light and Dark

The Doll Parts Collection: Light and Dark
"I wanted to play with a color palette of light and dark to show contrast in this collection."

Doll parts might make a lot of nostalgic millennials remember that 90's song from Hole. It also represents a variety of different meanings. For this collection, I wanted to show all of the bits and pieces that I and Revenant Wares represents.

This first official collection release is made up of fabric scraps from previous garments worked on, vintage fabrics and some doll parts scavenged from a friends basement, with the remainder of materials being found from various small businesses and makers. I wanted to play with a color palette of light and dark to show contrast in this collection for each collar style. Doll parts represent the many parts of ourselves we've been and become. For me, I grew up watching horror movies--which led me to go to college for Special FX/Entertainment Design. After college, I've worked for various small businesses and taught myself how to sew. Which, oddly, when I was young, my Nonna used to make my clothes and photograph me in different scenes (she was a self taught artist too!), but passed when I was 9. I've always had a passion to express myself through fashion and fell in love with antique style and oddities, as well as horror. The various jobs I have held and the things I've learned through them have led to Revenant Wares (more on that in another post). In this collection there is dark, as well as light. There is some humor and whimsy along with some fun gore. I've always been what I call a restless artist. Meaning, I am always looking for new mediums to learn and apply to my never-ending passions. There are different pieces and parts to all of us that make us who we are. I hope you enjoy my collection as much as I did making it. 🖤And with that, in an effort to not make this way too long, I will stop here.

I hope the photos below of the collection of these collars, will help me communicate what I can't seem to do here. I am, trying my best!🫠
